Ekaterina Zabegina is a veterinary specialist with more than 30 years of experience in development of efficient and growing organizations operating at best-in-class standards in the field of veterinary medicine, science and media. She has defended her PhD in veterinary virology, molecular biology & epidemiology, being one of the world leading specialists in the field of equine infectious diseases.
Author of 1 patent (equine influenza & EHV1/EHV4 inactivated vaccine) and more than 200 scientific and popular publications. Head of Organizing Committees of more than 200 veterinary conferences/congresses/workshops. Leader to create a system of post-graduate education for equine vets within WEVA & FEI activity. Four times re-elected Member of WEVA Board, Director of 10th WEVA Congress.
Since 2010 she is an Editor-in-Chief at Journal “Veterinary Medicine Today”, the main media edition for veterinary practitioners at Russian-speaking countries.
Currently, in combination with her numerous duties she is an Associate Professor and a Head of the Internship “Equine Pathology” at Don State University.
For her extraordinary input to development of veterinary medicine Ekaterina has been awarded with several State RF Medals, Honorary Awards “Golden Scalpel”, “Veterinary Cross” and “Veterinary Person of the Year” as well as National Award “Sport horses breeding”.
