Exploring the Limits of Equine Skeleton
|
Professor Chris Whitton BVSc, PhD, FANZCVS (Equine Surgery) Professor of Equine Surgery |
Congratulations to Professor Chris Whitton, who is internationally recognised for his pioneering research into equine musculoskeletal biology and bone adaptation. His work has significantly advanced our understanding of how the equine skeleton responds to training, loading, and fatigue — research that has had direct implications for injury prevention, performance optimization, and equine welfare. Through a combination of clinical investigation, imaging, and biomechanical research, Professor Whitton has contributed critical insights into skeletal adaptation and the limits of bone resilience in the athletic horse. His research continues to shape evidence-based approaches to training management and musculoskeletal health in sport horses worldwide. |
