Call for Abstracts: 15th International Equine Colic Research Symposium

The 15th International Equine Colic Research Symposium, hosted by The Foundation for the Horse, will be held 9–11 March 2027 at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida, USA.

Researchers, clinicians and specialists are invited to submit recent work relating to all aspects of equine gastroenterology for consideration as an oral or poster presentation. This triennial symposium provides an important global forum for sharing research, exchanging expertise and advancing the understanding, prevention and treatment of equine colic.

Abstract submissions close on 11 October 2026 at midnight EST.

Panama 2026: A Successful APVE–WEVA Intermediate Meeting

The III Panamanian Congress of Equine Medicine – APVE–WEVA Intermediate Meeting 2026 successfully concluded following three engaging days at the Atlapa Convention Center in Panama City.

Held from 12–14 August as part of Vet Evolution Panamá 2026, the meeting brought together the equine veterinary community for clinically focused education, scientific exchange and professional connection.

The programme featured an international faculty presenting across a broad range of topics relevant to contemporary equine practice, including reproduction, neonatal medicine, respiratory disorders, fluid therapy, metabolic syndrome, gastrointestinal disease, equine colic, injury management and challenging clinical cases.

Alongside the lecture programme, scientific poster presentations provided further opportunities to share research and professional knowledge. The strong attendance and enthusiastic participation throughout the meeting reflected a shared commitment to advancing equine health and veterinary practice across the region.

WEVA extends its sincere appreciation to the Asociación Panameña de Veterinarios de Equinos (APVE), the Vet Evolution Panamá organising team, the speakers, supporting organisations, partners and delegates whose contributions made the meeting a success.

We are delighted to share highlights from this memorable gathering and look forward to building upon the knowledge, connections and collaborative spirit fostered in Panama.
